I wanna be old bike cool, Dagumit!

The summer before I married my husband, he flew me out to Vermont to visit. The beauty here took my breath away. I loved every moment of sitting around campfires with friends, drinking beers and eating fried clams, YUM! But there was one day in the trip that stood out to me the most. He took me to Burlington where I witnessed my dream riding past us with such poise and charm. There was a girl on an old bike, hand painted. Oh, I wanted to be her SOOOOO bad! She was so chic and fun and eco-friendly at that! This girl had no idea I admired her so much but all I could say to Dan was that one day, ONE day I would be this awesome old bike cool chick!.... sigh.

This is NOT the girl I saw but she gives me the same warm and fuzzy feeling.

When I lived with my girlfriend Shannon in Tulsa, we decided to get bikes. (mind you it was in the middle of the night and I'm not sure how much we had drank that night)...We went down to the local Walmart and bought some random bikes. Then we packed them up and took them to Brookside where we rode them around for hours at about 3am. I miss those days (so does Shannon). I want it all back! I want to really take the time to pick out an older bike and paint it. Make it scream "MONET" to the world while I casually ride past people waving like a crazed maniac.... well, maybe just waving. Anyways, I want a bike with a basket on the front. today. now. pronto!
